Remembering Paul S. Ridgaway 06.15.2009 PAUL S. RIDGAWAY

Lifelong resident of Bellefonte went home to be with The Lord on Wednesday
June 10, 2009 after a brief illness at the age of 87. Paul was born in
Wilmington the son of the late Allen and Mary Ridgaway. He was a member
of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses' on Veale Road, Wilmington. Paul
was a Life Member of Brandywine Hundred Volunteer Fire Company #1 where
his family has over 100 years of combined service. Paul was owner of Ridgaway's
Towing Company on Philadelphia Pike for 48 years. Paul loved the Phillies.
He was a "Phantastic Phan", and he enjoyed clamming and crabbing with
his family and riding on The Cape May-Lewes Ferry. Paul's heart belonged
to his family. He was a dedicated husband and father who put the needs
of his family before his own. Paul's beloved wife of 54 years, Martha
Ridgaway passed away in 1999. He will be sadly missed by his son Allen
Ridgaway of Wilmington; daughters Martha A. Pedicone and her husband John
of Bellefonte and Robin K. Ridgaway and her husband Joe Lisinski of Wilmington;
grandchildren John M. Pedicone, Jason P. Pedicone, Joshua T. Pedicone,
Justin P. Pedicone, Jonathan Lisinski, Jessica Lisinski and January Ridgaway;
great-grandchildren Victoria Ryan, Daniel S.P. Ridgaway, Steven M. Ridgaway,
Dominic A. Pedicone, Emmalie R. Pedicone, Caterina M. Pedicone and Jordan
J.P. Velez, and brother-in-law John Hawk. Paul will also be missed by
his devoted friend and caregiver Rico Velez, and a host of loving nieces,
nephews and other family members. Paul was predeceased by his wife Martha;
his son Paul T. Ridgaway; grandson Thomas P. Ridgaway; brother Allen W.
Ridgaway; sisters Annabelle Ridgaway, Adelaide Toy and Mary Stone. Family,
friends and members of the fire service community are invited to Paul's
funeral service on Thursday June 18th at 1 pm at BEESON FUNERAL HOME OF
WILMINGTON, 412 Philadelphia Pike, (302)764-2900 where his viewing and
visitation with his family will be from 11 am to 1 pm. Interment will
follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park. In memory of Paul a donation may be
made to Brandywine Hundred Volunteer Fire Company #1, 1006 Brandywine
Blvd, Wilmington, DE 19809 or Delaware Humane Association, 701 "A" Street,
Wilmington, DE 19801. Paul's family would like to thank Odyssey Hospice
and in particular Nurse Kelly, Aide Kathy, and Social Worker George Fox
for the loving care provided to Paul and the family during his illness.
