Genna Carter and Keith Wisher 10.3.2009 Genna Kathleen Carter and Keith Wyatt Wisher were united in marriage Saturday, July 18, 2009 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Smyrna. The afternoon wedding was performed by Reverend Mark Sullivan. The bride was given in marriage by her father and mother.
The bride is the daughter of Temple and Georgia Carter of Smyrna. She is the granddaughter of Anna Carter of Wilmington and Virginia Kruchen of Dover.
The groom is the son of Keith Jackson and Thelma Wisher of Clayton. He is the grandson of Betty Wisher of Clayton and Madeline Jackson of Clayton.
Maid of Honor was Courtney MacDonald, friend of the couple. Bridesmaids were Ashley Willis, Meggan Rife, and Rhiannon Boyce, friends of the couple. Junior bridesmaid was Tatum Travis, niece of the groom.
Best Man was Kenneth Rife, friend of the couple. Groomsmen were Eric McNatt, friend of the couple, Derrick Fountain, cousin of the groom, and John Huidekoper, cousin of the bride.
Flower girl was Kyla Wisher, cousin of the groom. Ring bearer was Joseph Hart, Jr., friend of the couple. Readers were Tracy Gell, cousin of the bride, and Tinita Wisher, cousin of the groom.
The bride is a graduate of Wesley College, where she received a B.A. in Psychology, and Wilmington University, where she received a M.Ed. in Elementary and Secondary School Counseling. She is currently employed as a Behavior Analyst at Chimes, Newark.
The groom is a graduate of the University of Maryland, where he received a B.A. in History, and Wilmington University, where he received a M.A. in teaching. He is currently employed as a Social Studies teacher at Caesar Rodney High School, Camden.
A reception was held at the Duncan Center in Dover. After a honeymoon to St. Martin, the couple resides in Smyrna.
