Laura Vodvarka and Mark Massey

Laura Jo Vodvarka and Mark Wesley Massey were united in marriage Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Asbury United Methodist Church, Smyrna.

The wedding was officiated by Reverend David Humphrey. The bride was given in marriage by her father and mother.

The bride is the daughter of Joseph and Nancy Vodvarka of Smyrna.

The groom is the son of Willard Massey of Townsend and Bonnie Collins of Marydel.

The Maids of Honor were Ashley and Traci Vodvarka, sisters of the bride. The bridesmaids were Shanon Biggs, friend of the bride, Danica Guessford, cousin of the bride, Michelle Grace, friend of the bride, Tricia Ryan, friend of the bride, and Kellie Massey, sister of the groom. The flowergirls were Andersyn Biggs and Jaylen Ryan, friends of the bride.

The Best Men were Craig Ryan, friend of the groom and Carl Meadwell, cousin of the groom. The groomsmen were Scott Cahall, friend of the groom, Dustin Wallace, cousin of the groom, Eric Ryan, friend of the groom, Jimmy Ryan, friend of the groom, and Matthew Ryan, friend of the groom.

The guest book attendants were Brittany Wooleyhand, Katy Coker, and Brandy Wooleyhand, cousins of the bride.

Doves were released following the ceremony representing the commitment that Mark and Laura promised one another.

The bride is a Wilmington College graduate with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She is expected to complete her Masters in Literacy at Wilmington University in Spring 2010. She is currently employed with the Smyrna School District as a first grade teacher.

The groom is currently employed with DNREC as a conservation technician.

A reception was held at the Modern Maturity Center in Dover, Delaware. After a honeymoon in Negril, Jamaica, the couple resides in Smyrna, Delaware.
