McCurrys to Celebrate 60th Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Bill McCurry will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Sunday, January 10, 2010. Friends are invited to share in the celebration with their family at the Blue Springs Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 5555 Valley View Road Blue Springs, Missouri between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. (No gifts please.)

Bill and Agnes have two daughters, Cindy Horne, Independence and Trudy Dowhower and husband Kerby of Independence. They have 3 grandchildren, Shana Shanteau and husband Leland, Tyler Kreutner and wife Emily, Keri Perry and husband Michael and loving memories of their late grandson Jacob Dowhower. They also have 5 great-grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. McCurry were married January 1, 1950 in Imperial, Nebraska. They lived in Chase County until moving to Independence in 1977.
Bill worked in farming, farm machinery business and grocery store management in Nebraska. In Independence, he managed the Coop Food Fair, retiring in 1991. He currently serves as a Patriarch/Evangelist in the Blue Springs Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Agie worked as a book-keeper, piano teacher and in grocery store management, working sided-by-side with her husband for 19 years. Bill and Agie have maintained a very active lifestyle in service to others through their church and in volunteer efforts such as the Lunch Partners Food Pantry and Nursing Home ministry.
