Annette W. Graybill, of Rocky Ford, CO., formerly of Manheim, Pennsylvania, entered into rest, January 18, 2010 at the Pioneer Nursing Care Center in Rocky Ford, CO. She was born to Aaron and Mary Witmeyer, December 6, 1923 in Lancaster, PA. She was 86 years of age.
Annette is survived by her daughter Fran (Charles) Pannebaker of La Junta; grandchildren Annie (Kevin) Dolley of Colorado Springs CO. and Robert (Jennifer Bauserman) Pannebaker, of Bowling Green, Kentucky; brothers Donald Witmeyer of Calabassus, CA. and Victor (Grace) Witmeyer of Manheim, PA, recently of Jacksonville, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and special Great-niece - Stephanie Seaman of Manheim, PA, She is preceded by her husband, Richard Graybill; parents Aaron and Mary (Boyd) Witmeyer; brothers Bruce, Billy and Eugene Witmeyer; sisters Lucile (Luther) Hostetter and Madalon (Don) Nunemacher.
Annette was a lifelong member of the Mt. Hope Episcopal Church in Lancaster County, PA. She served where she was needed - lawn mower, alter guild, choir, Sunday school teacher. She was raised on a farm and worked at a variety of jobs throughout her life, but her avocation was caring for her family and friends. She enjoyed reading, was meticulous about spelling words correctly and always had a dictionary handy. She loved to take walks in the woods, knew the names of plants and birds and always had a snack or a hanky in her pocket for any kids who needed either one.
A memorial service will be held in Pennsylvania at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Johnson-Romero Family Funeral Home.
