Obituary for Joe Romero
Joe Romero of La Junta, CO, entered into rest, January 28, 2010 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Care Center in La Junta. He was born to Manuel and Livoria Romero, December 28, 1924 in Earl, CO. He was 85 years of age.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Alberta "Tina" Romero of La Junta. Son's; Johnie (Kathy) Romero of Longemont, CO, Frank Romero of Aurora, CO, Dannie (Debbie) Romero of Rocky Ford, CO, and Albert Romero of La Junta, CO. Daughter's; Teresa (Richard Campos) Romero of La Junta, CO, Susan (Frank) Holyer of Arvada, CO. Sister's; Eva Castello, Mary Romero, and Lucy Baca. Brother, Manuel Romero. Grandchildren; Canisha Churchill, Bethany Taylor, Richard Campos, Jr., Terri Hernandez, Louie, Rueben, Jaime, Denise, Daniel, and Dominic Romero. He also had many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his parent's, Manuel and Livoria Romero, son, Jessie Romero, Grandson, Jacob Campos, sister's, Cora Diaz, Andrea Gallegos and Ursella Bencomo.
Joe worked for the Citizen Utilities and Wilson Plumbing. After he retired he worked for the Winter Livestock. He enjoyed working around the cattle. He was a hard working man. He worked to provide for his family he loved so dearly. When he wasn't working he enjoyed; hunting, fishing, camping, picking wild spinach, picking chilies and gardening. He was a friend to everyone.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2010, from 4:00PM to 6:00PM followed by a Celebration of his Life starting at 6:00 PM. at the Johnson-Romero Family Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2010. 10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. At Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick's Parish Catholic Church in La Junta.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Johnson-Romero Family Funeral Home.
