Robert H. Pearson, 76, of Everton, MO and formerly of La Junta passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 in Everton, MO. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 10th from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Reverend M.J. Romano of the First Presbyterian Church officiating.
Robert was born on May 5, 1933 in La Junta, Colorado to Leonard & Gertrude (Carr) Pearson. He married Betty Jo Cole on April 21, 1951 in La Junta, Colorado.
He served in the Navy from 1951 to 1953 and also served in the Army from 1953 to 1971 and he was a retired SSGT. He moved back to La Junta and worked at Ft. Lyon. He moved to Everton, MO in 1984. He received two purple hearts, one bronze star.
Robert is survived by his companion, Louise Rhoades of Everton, MO; daughters, Melva Sue (Gary) Cranson of La Junta; Dorothy May Lett of Hampton, VA; Kathy (Larry) Noble of Lamar, CO; Debbie (Charlie Green) Brummer of Weaverville, CA; son, Robert Pearson, Jr. of Everton, MO; 15 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, one great, great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard & Gertrude; Infant sister, Dorothy; brothers, Tom, Leonard, and Kenneth; wife, Betty Jo; daughter, Helen Pearson-Weesner; grandson, Robby Pearson.
