Steve J. Archuleta, Sr., 78, passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at his La Junta home.
He was born to Antonio & Cipriana (Vigil) Archuleta in Todd, Colorado on January 26, 1932. He married Tomasita M. Gutierrez in 1962 in La Junta.
Steve enjoyed fishing and watching his favorite football team the Kansas City Chiefs. He was a member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish.
He is survived by his wife, Tomasita of the La Junta home; children, Judy (John Vialpando) Archuleta, Cathy Archuleta, Steve J. Archuleta, Jr., and Antonette Archuleta all of La Junta; grandchildren, Micky (Erin) Monroy, Chasity Archuleta, Ray Archuleta, George Esquibel, Matthew Archuleta, Krysten Archuleta, Rachel Bernal, and Sunshine Lovato; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Mike, Albert, and Paul Archuleta; sister, Rose Archuleta; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio & Cipriana Archuleta; brothers, Tony & Lee Archuleta; sisters, Mary Whatley & Ida Sandoval.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at 9:30 a.m. and Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. at our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish. Interment will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be Monday, June 14th, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
