Mrs. Edna Panter McLellan died

Edna Panter McLellan, 80, of Naples died June 9, 2010. Born July 5, 1929 in La Junta, Colo, she was the daughter of the late Sog. R and Marian Panter.
Edna graduated from La Junta High School in 1947. Salutorian of her class, she earned her Associates of Arts Degree at Otero Community College and then went on to finish her Bachelors of Arts in English from Denver University, Class of '51.
Edna joined United Arilines as a stewardess and met a passenger who later become her husband. She and Waye were married in 1952 and spent two years in Germany, where they worked for the U.S. Air Force and traveled extensively through Europe.
The McLellans settled in Annapolis, Md where they raised their family. Edna was the Chief of Staff for two Maryland representatives, Gladys Spellman and Steny Hoyer. She retired from Capitol Hill in 1989 and moved to Naples.
Edna is survived by her husband of 58 years, Wayne; children, Scott (Susan) McLellan of Pennsylvania; Dana (Ted) Saxerud of Virginia; grandsons, Zachary Andrew and Alexander; many nieces, newphews and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Robert and Sog Panter, Jr.
No local services are planned at this time.
Final committal will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
