82 of Jennersville, died February 27, 2009 surrounded by his loving family in Jennersville Regional Hospital.

Mr. Sayre was a graduate of Rider College in Trenton, NJ. He worked for the duPont Company from 1954 to 1983. A Navy veteran of WWII, he was an avid sports fan and gardener who played semi pro baseball as a young man. He was a former member of Limestone Presbyterian Church where he served as trustee, deacon, financial secretary, and clerk of session. He was presently a member of West Grove Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Sayre; 2 daughters Donna S. Husted and her husband Glenn of Hummelstown, PA, Dale M. Sarapulski and her husband John of Hockessin; 4 grandchildren, Christopher, Eric, Marie and Laura and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Timothy.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday March 3, 2009 at Limestone Presbyterian Church, 3201 Limestone Rd. Friends may call at CHANDLER FUNERAL HOME, 7230 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin on Monday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Shively/Tan Endowed Professorship in Biological Psychiatry, Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, 500 University Drive, Hershey, PA 17033 in memory of Timothy Husted.
